Vintage Backyard Wedding

Chris & Chelsea were married September 14th, 2013.  They have been partners for many years and were ready to make it official!  The couple chose a vibrant color scheme of yellow, red, blue & brown.  We made the flower bouquets and boutonnieres for their special day.

Chis the groom wore a very cool vintage vest in place of a traditional suit.  Chelsea the bride had been collecting vintage millinery flowers for us to use for the boutonnieres.  We used these vintage flowers and leaves and added delicate yellow waxflowers to give it some life.

For the bridesmaid bouquets we used blue hydrangea, tweedia, red ranunculus, cornflower, marigolds, dahlias, zinnias, and some rose hips accented with yellow waxflower.

Chelsea found the perfect vintage dress in Vancouver, B.C.  She also found this amazing blue fascinator that inspired us to use the blue hydrangeas in the floral designs.

For Chelsea's bouquet we focused on large blue hydrangeas.  We added in large yellow garden roses, red zineas, red ranunculus, blue tweedia, cornflower, red dahlias and some yellow waxflower.

We added some delphinium blossoms to the flower
girl's hair.  She passed out fresh flowers to seated guests including dahlia blooms, delphiniums and zinnias.

We also made a ton of crepe paper flowers for party crowns the guests gave as favors at their reception party at Full Tilt in Ballard.  The couple supplied quarters for pinball and had a variety of homemade pies served with Full Tilt's ice cream.

Summer Woodland Wedding

Late July is a lovely time to get married in the Northwest.  We were so lucky to have collaborated on this wedding with Luxe Wedding Design.  Annette the owner hired us to do some of the floral and graphic design elements for the wedding of Joe & Kent.  They were wed at Frog's Creek Lodge on the Key Peninsula on July 27th, 2013.

The couple wanted primarily a white color palette with pops of citrus green and deep chocolate brown. We knew we wanted to use fern curls as they are so woodsy and masculine perfect for two grooms.  The softness of the small white roses added a nice contrast.  A simple fern leaf added an additional texture and kept it cool and modern.

Here is Kent wearing his boutonniere looking so handsome.

As guests arrived in place of a regular guest book Joe & Kent wanted a live tree that would be planted after the wedding on the property.  We designed 3 different pine cone shapes for paper wish tree cards that guests could write happy messages to the couple.

The notes were then hung on the tree.  All the guests could read each other's wishes and have a lovely conversation piece over cocktails.

The couple got married outdoors.  Each groom walked a different path at the courtyard's labyrinth.  They met in front of the gazebo where a band was playing.  We helped with the design of the garland and floral accents for the ceremony's gazebo.

After the ceremony guests found their escort card.  We designed a different leaf shape for each table.  Instead of using table numbers each table had a different tree name.

The leaf escort cards were placed in log holders.

We designed laser cut table cards with wood stump stands. Each table was named after a different variety of evergreen tree.  We created lush floral arrangements in log vessels using white daisies, garden roses, hydrangeas, fern leaves, queen anne's lace, and white scabiosa.

We designed modern white arrangements for the cocktail tables using dahlias, white garden roses, queen anne's lace, green mums, fern curls, dianthus, and other white blooms.

To spruce up the groom's chairs we added some green garland and white and green mums.

We designed dessert label cards that we had laser cut in a double pine shape that matched design elements of the couple's invitation.  Macarons by Ruth Anne Ford.

This dreamy nectarine and blueberry galette was created by Rosellini Sweets.  We designed the sweet sign and wood stump holder.

We also designed all the paper signage for the wedding.  This cocktail menu had a list of the beverage choices.  We also created this floral arrangement with queen anne's lace, scabiosa pod, roses, camassia and other white blooms.

We are so happy that Washington has realized that everyone deserves love and we are all equal.  Love wins!
Congrats to Kent & Joe.
